Tear Sheet was commissioned by Fuse Works: Multiples & Editions to be a unique artwork that served as packing and wrapping material for other works purchased from their catalogue.
The Fuse Works catalogue has long served as a venue for artists to explore their relationship to contemporary consumer culture. For Tear Sheet, several hundred sheets of delicate tissue paper were silk screened by hand with a graphic that reads, “Fuck You for Buying Anything.” These sheets were then crumpled and folded in order to safely wrap other works of art.
