Greyline

2002
Photo transparency and aluminum lightbox
32" x 60"

This imagined addition to the Chicago transit system was designed while the artist was living in Illinois. More practical than fantastic in its layout, Greyline inspired many Chicago viewers to spontaneously take on the role of city planner, suggesting and debating further improvements to the transit system.

Installation view from Dogmatic Gallery. The fluorescent lightbox imitates the static illuminated transit maps of the mid 1990s.
