Cardboard, paint, ink
16" x 17"
A line of manufactured air holes sit at the top of this composition while creamy yellow paint grounds this No Fishing Sign. Broad, wet strokes of umbre, pink, salmon, burgundy, and ocean blue are layered at the lower edge of the work, obscuring repeated iterations of green paint and charcoal text. The word “NO,” written in black ink, remains boldly visible while the object of its prohibition is obscured by a thick, scumbled stroke of orange.
